Baby Room

Baby Room
Our Baby Room (3 months – 20 months)
Our baby room is a self-contained room with a designated staff member to 3 babies at any one time. However, if we have 3 very small babies, we will always try to have another person in the baby room as well for extra support.
Our aim is to provide a homely, safe and secure atmosphere for the babies in our care. Every effort is made to continue the babies’ existing routines. Each baby will have a daily routine diary sheet to record all that they have done throughout the day. This is given to the parents at the end of each day.
The baby room incorporates a sleeping area and a safe play area where they can explore a variety of different activities and resources. There is lots of interaction between the baby room and our Toddler/Pre-School room as the babies are very much a part of our nursery family and everyone benefits from this. It is particularly nice for siblings to be able to see and interact with their brothers and sisters.
We feel it is so important for all the children to come together at mealtimes, group time and out in the garden as much as possible. This enables the babies to begin to explore new surroundings and older children around them and allows them to interact with other staff members for when they are ready to move out into the Toddler/Pre-school room.
We have prams and buggies available so the babies can go outside with the other children and of course to go on walks to explore the village or feed the ducks etc.
The baby room has a specially designed garden with lots of sensory plants and items to cruise around and explore.
Food: All food is provided by the nursery unless a parent would initially like to bring in food from home.
The only items we do not provide as a nursery are formula milk and nappies.
